So for Christmas, just like last year, all I want to do is get a ticket that will take me from Raleigh to Kansas City... and then from Fargo, ND back to Raleigh. That's because I'll be meeting my family in Kansas for a 100th birthday party, then driving back to Minnesota for Christmas. Here are the results:
Get both tickets together: $340
JUST Raleigh to KC: $98
JUST Fargo to Raleigh: $700
Ummmmmmmm...?
Weird. Truly nonsensical but hey.

Going with a hypothetical flight date of the 31st of December, I've found $465 for the Fargo-Raleigh flight. Still insane, though.
ha! thanks for checking, phil. 465 - are these people out of their minds? Actually i've paid close to that for a round-trip to Fargo but for a one-way, that's crazy.
anyway i guess it is redeeming that the whole package is a somewhat-reasonable $340... i just wish A + B = C. but hey. and plus i think last year i found the same ticket for something like $250 which was amazing. i will hold out a couple more weeks and see.
you headin' anywhere special for thanksgiving or christmas? is your family in SC or GA? i am not too clear on that. i think SC.
My family is in South Carolina, correct. We have very few family ties to anywhere else in the world. In any case, it looks as though the extended family I do have are coming down here from Maryland (Dad's side) and New York to visit for Christmas, possibly Thanksgiving as well.
So my ideal plans are anywhere but here.

i'm not sure what i'll be doing yet. probably with my family in the DC area... though i really wish i could see my immediate family. still working on persuading them to meet me in minneapolis.

My family is basically my mom's side in Kansas and Virginia, and my Dad's side in Masschusetts. All together we probably have like 15 relatives. haha. Very small family. Okay I counted... 19, I think.
Persuasion did not go as planned. My parents said it's too expensive right now. Wah!
